I wanted to re-design the site since i started posting here.
I’ve changed all the headers, footers and site bar titles (basically ripping off the design of my latest uni video.
I was intending to post week 3’s Semanal video today, but gonna have to wait till early tomorrow.
The project brief was to represent a book within visual media (conveying mood, atmosphere etc…)
I chose to do ‘Jaws’ by Peter Benchley as ‘Jaws’ is my all-time favourite film and i have also read the book. The book already has a huge association with visual media as most people already know it best as Steven Speilbergs film. I wanted to strip the film out of mind and create a semi-abstract and confined short based on the chapters where Hooper goes into the water with the shark cage.
The finished product is only partially what i concieved, and wasn’t able to complete it as was flooded with contextual work at the time which sacrificed the time i could spend on it.
I love the design, and hope to revisit this later this year and complete it. But for now, here’s what i submitted.
First entry to Semanal shot and edited quickly today. No Sound.

Well it seems that a blogging problem i illustrated in the last post has been solved instantaneously. I’ve been a fan of the whole videoblogging world since it’s early beginnings and the idea of freedom to post whatever and whenever excited me as someone who wanted to create video media.
I found out late about NaVloPoMo and was gutted to have missed the opportunity to participate.
However Rupert Howe has started Semanal, which works along the same lines as NaVloPoMo but is 1 video a week for a year (52 in total), not 1 a day for a month.
So i’m participating in this and am hoping to achieve all 52 in time. I’ll be hosting these videos on blip.tv like my others, on it’s own page so people can choose whether or not to subscribe to this feed.
Semanal will have it’s own blog and feed soon too featuring all member videos.
Hoping to post my first video later on today…. More to come.
