Yoast Screen Cast Intro

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Watch on iPad/iPhone.
Here is an intro video i produced for the new Yoast Screen Casts. The first episode went live recently so i thought i’d post it up. The video introduces the general concept of Yoast.com and the new screen casts, improving your site = more traffic. Capping off with a 3d logo animation and colourful light – background.

Today’s the 27th of August 2010, which is an important day for me.. as it is a year since committing to making my feature film. I’m at a place with it at the moment where everything is going to plan, and i will start hitting it full steam ahead after the script consultation. I’d like if possible to get the character/location designs and voice actor recordings all done by 2011. It’s a bit ambitious.. but we’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned for the new film site launching on October 1st this year. It will promise to have alot of cool updates with a minimum of 1 post a week (likely more on certain weeks though). This year and the next should be fun.

My Interview at ArtoftheTitle.com

Krystian Morgan interview at artofthetitle.com

I was contacted in January, asked if i’d be interviewed for ArtoftheTitle.com regarding my title sequence for John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’. Of course i accepted, it’s one of my favourite design sites and i often visit when i’m in a slump looking for reference and inspiration from all the great title sequences that exist.

I’m really blown over by it, it’s great motivation to continue doing what i’m doing. I hope one day to be half as good as some of the prior interviewees which includes Kyle Cooper and Danny Yount, which are prime inspiration for me choosing Motion Graphics as a focus in the first place.

Check it out the interview here.

The Thing in a book- Krystian Morgan

The Thing in a book page

I had quite a nice surprise last week when i was looking through the latest issue of Computer Arts, it was an advert for this book, and it had my name on it so i thought, ‘I’ll get that’.

I think it’s pretty cool, first time i’ve been in a book. Check it out here.

Here’s a link to the video, if you haven’t already seen it. Click here.

Dancing Still

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Just had some fun playing around with some photos and the animation tools in photoshop. I really enjoyed making this, i think in the past i’ve cared too much about what happens next in a video, will it look good etc… which makes me loose sight of when i used to have fun making videos not worrying about that sort of thing. This blog as lackluster-y updated as it is something i love to do, and hate not doing, i’m going to try and find the fun again and post more with out the stress of thinking it’s crap.

This year’s gonna be the most important of my life, i’m really producing alot lately, whether it be writing, drawing or making videos and music, i’m creating more than i ever have, i just haven’t been showing it. I’m saving alot for the film. saving the good songs and the ideas i’m happy with, but it’s great to come back here and vent some content that just flowed rather than carefully planned.

Happy New year all!

Lamnidae

A short experiment in 3d and after effects. Put together in 2 days, just playing around with cinema 4d’s after effects integration and also combining particular with that of 3d footage.

Audio improvised and recorded by me.
