The Film

A little History

Ok, so some people here may already know that i’m currently writing a script for a film that i intend to make and complete in the next few years. Although at the moment, i don’t want to give to much information about it away, as i’m still developing new ideas and avenues as i’m writing, i have a name which i’m also happy with and will reveal that later too.

I’ve been planning on doing this since the last year of college (4 years ago now) and has been a bit of a pipe dream all my life. But now, it’s happening and i’m really pumped and focused on it (it’s one of the main reasons that the site’s been so quiet as i’ve been prepping research for the project, it was also the reasoning behind starting up the drawing blog to get some, digital drawing practice a year beforehand).

What?

What i can tell you at the moment it that:

  1. It’s going to be a full-feature length movie.
  2. It’s going to be completely animated.
  3. And i’m going to do pretty much everything myself

on weekends, including music (will have help with dialogue of course).

I’m not going to post much more on the film for a while, at least until i’m at the end of the writing stage and am entering the design/production stage. In time the film will have it’s own site, and production diaries, not completely unlike ProjectPedal.com. But until then if you’re interested in knowing more, i’d love you to fill out the form below to subscribe to the newsletter (you wont get any confirmation emails or anything like that), and in a few months i’ll send you a packed email full of info, schedule and stuff like that.

Formerly KMOGVIDEO.net

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Hello, and welcome to the new site. If you’re a first time visitor this site has been re-designed, re-modded and re-branded. I was happy with the prior name (KMOGVIDEO.net) but felt it was a little long and hard to remember, so here we have a new modern-ish imagining…Qemic.com

This is the first site i’ve coded from scratch..well..the Starkers theme, and had help from tutorials and learned from aspects of other sites i like. I think i have a solid foundation to build upon now, and expect new aspects to be appearing in the next few weeks.

So what’s different apart from the name?

Previously the site was video only posts, on this one i’ve utilized categories more and have dedicated certain posts and areas of the sites according to what category they’re under, so I’m now able to post both video and written posts in the same feed, but also organize and separate them across the site.

Feed?

There are now two main feeds that you can subscribe to, the first contains both the video and written posts and if you’re already subscribed here this is the feed that you will be seeing with new updates.

Also there is now a videos only feed if they are the only content here you want to be updated with.

What will the written posts be about?

I’ve got a few post drafts in the works and they will be along the lines of software reviews, tips and tricks, general updates and downloads such as the video themes that i have promised.

Also although the written portion of the site will be primarily text and images, I’m also gonna use the area to post more videos that i like but don’t necessarily want to be featured in the ‘video’ portion of the site and feed.

Hope you like the new look and name!

Krystian

ps. The site has a few issues and bugs at the moment that i’m aware of and aswell as adding new functionality, pages etc… i’m gonna squash those issues within the next few days.

Two Point Zero!

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Well it’s been a long time in the waiting (for me at least), but here is the newly redesigned site. I was hoping to launch it along with my latest uni project, but opted into making this silly little teaser for the site instead because i want to spend more time on that project over the next month or so (it’s driving me crazy).

Anyway, this site isn’t in it’s final stage of the design as i have a few more things i want to incorporate whenever i have chance, including a toolbar under the video players with digg, del.icio.us, reddit etc… buttons. Some people may know that i was planning on releasing this as a free videoblog theme once it was finished, i think that modding K2 isn’t the best way for me to do that, i’m instead going to start from a different open source theme which is less bloated with options and unused code (it will have some similar aspects as this one but will be a brand new theme in it’s own right), i will also post a screencast which will show you how simple it is to post a video with this new theme platform! If you have any feature requests comment them below, contact me, or add me to skype: kmogvideo.

Also i would like to thank Chris Coyier for his help with the featured content slider, not only did he create it, but he helped me customize it to dynamically pull my ‘featured’ posts.

I have a quite ambitious year planned ahead regarding these online projects so stay tuned for more.

Check out this article i wrote for Moovy.ca on my workflow!

p.s. some of the minor posts are temporarily disabled.

The Woods

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Here’s a little homage to ‘Evil Dead‘. I shot the footage just under two years ago for my ‘The Hills Have Eyes‘ uni project but decided not to use it in the end.

You may have noticed the new site. I decided to move KMOGVIDEO.net from blogger to wordpress for a number of reasons, but i mainly wanted more flexibility with plugins, design and management.

Here’s a screenshot of the original blog click here.
You can see the uni project this footage was intended for here.

Hope you like the video…
